Insurance Company Liable for Improperly
Investigating Accident Claim

Accident victims should get legal help, even if an insurance adjuster offers a small settlement. As a new case shows, the insurance company many not have properly investigated the claim, and the victim may be entitled to a higher settlement.

Steve C. was in a car accident. He was badly hurt, but the insurance company offered him only a small amount. Steve instead took the insurance company to court, saying it did not properly investigate and value his injury. A court ruled for Steve. It found the insurance company did not even review all of Steve’s medical records before making its offer. Worse, the person who reviewed Steve’s records for the insurance company admitted he did not have training to properly evaluate Steve’s injuries.

At this case shows, even though insurance companies claim they’re offering you a fair amount after an accident, it’s vital to have a lawyer. Your lawyer will make sure you receive full compensation for your injuries.
